Carpe Diem Journal - Don't Wait for the New Year to Set Your Goals7:48 am
Despite the craziness that is your life, I bet you're starting to think about the past year - what you did, what you didn't do, what made you happy, what you'll pass on if it comes your way again... It's hard not to be contemplative at this time of year I find.
So why not grasp that feeling by the ah-hems and sort it all out before the new year arrives for once? And don't worry, it doesn't have to be a hardship like filling out employee benefit forms or trying to change your online password. In fact, it's so much fun, thanks to Mary Kate McDevitt's awesome Carpe Diem Journal, that you might just find that what you thought was so hard to accomplish all this time is actually just a few more steps away.
See, what I find is, all you need to get on track is:
- a little quiet time to think
- a place to write it all down in that makes it easy and that you'll go back to over and again
With fun and inspiring graphics throughout the book (pictured above) and lotsa room to write and brainstorm on lovely pages (pictured below), this might just be the year that you make it all happen. Always wanted to open a coffee shop? Done. Is it time that you got rid of those clients that never send you stuff on time and then make you feel bad for not getting it done by yesterday? Done.
Life is busy and it seems to get busier and busier. Don't let it pass you because you've got to work late all next month or due to the fact you've never had a system in place. It's time you sat down and wrote out not only what you want to do, but what you don't want to do. You wouldn't believe how much easier and clearer your life becomes once you've just sat down for a minute and had a chance to mull over your options.
Part of the reason you've probably never done this, at least done it in awhile, is that you haven't had a good place to write it all down.
And go get 'em. And then tell me what you're working towards and how it's going. I'll share mine too if you like.
