Give Bond No. 9 Eau de Parfumes This Valentine's Day - Women's, Men's and Unisex

Bond no. 9 is all about "making scents of New York." They create fragrances that are edgy and ooze the vibe and feel of the city.

And in fact, having been there a number of times myself, smell like every good part of the city - wrought iron fences, concrete, Central Park in full bloom. It's really quite incredible, like a journey through the city all contained in a bottle.

There are over 30 women's, men's and unisex eaux de parfum that give each NYC neighbourhood a scent of it's own. How cool is that?!

Created by French perfume expert - and longtime NY resident - Laurice Rahme, you can go to the actual stores and boutiques and check out the incredible 18-22% concentrations of pure eaux de parfumes - "the longlasting concentrations of the legendary vintage scents of the 1920s and 1930s.

Aside from the scents, there is much to love about the fragrance. You can choose your own bottle such as a beehive, fan or regular squarish flacon. It's refillable and you pour in as much - or as little as you like. You pay by the ounce.

But you can shop online too. Pick your parfum scent here or choose samples to get a sense of the various scents.

I tried Saks Fifth Avenue for Her and Him with notes of jasmine, tuberose, gardenia, vetiver, vanilla. Clean, evocative scents that you wear whether you're male or female. They smell of Saturday morning at the fragrance counter, a walk through the city streets and a Friday night date that ends up with the two of you being the last table in the restaurant.

And to get that NYC feel even more, Andy Warhol's Silver Factory is a great way to bring the pop life into your own. The studio where Andy hung out from 1964-68 has been encapsulated in a fragrance of incense, wood resin, amber, jasmine, iris and violet that can be worn by either sex. It is a really exciting and invigorating scent, almost like you'd imagine liquid silver and fame to smell like. And don't be surprised if it leads you to picking up pad and pencil to sketch or a camera to make that film that's been in your head for a decade or two...

These scents are some of the best I've ever experienced. And it is like having a little bit of the city with you.

Which for a city girl such as myself who's always dreamed of living in Manhattan, is just about the greatest gift I could receive.

Shop for your favourite neighbourhood or place now.
