Natural, Vegan-Friendly Cosmetics

The search for natural and homemade products plagues my friends and colleagues, but today, I have a great find that will not only soothe your mind, but your body too!

Smudgepot Cosmetics is the creation of Michelle Palmer in Toronto, Ontario.

She has created a line of products that are vegan-friendly. What that means exactly, is this, according to her website:

“(It) means that the product is free from any animal by-products, or animal-derived ingredients. It also means that the product is not tested on animals, and in our case, none of our suppliers use animal testing either. You do not, however, have to be vegan to use Smudgepot products. We simply wanted to create a high-quality line of cosmetics that you can use in good conscience.”

Her Lip Balm comes in a slim tin container from which you apply the balm with your fingers. It has Avocado Oil and Aloe Butter and leaves your lips plump, soft and slightly shiny throughout the day. And because you don’t need much, the container will last a whole season or two, depending on the weather!

The Instant Karma Body Scrub and Instant Karma Body Butter were incredibly rich and long-lasting. The scrub, which is a sea salt exfoliant, gets at all your dead, dry skin and turns into a silky oil in which to enrich your new, smooth skin.

The butter body is also silky and oily, due to cocoa crème here, and gives your skin a nice sheen and feel. Michelle calls this “an intense body moisturizer” and she’s right.

Both the scrub and butter have lavender, rosewood and vanilla essential oils, which give off that natural healing scent that instantly puts you at ease – both body and mind.

I like that there are no synthetic or chemical ingredients in her products and you can email her info@smudgepotcosmetics.com for a full list of ingredients.

Whether you’re vegan or not, Smudgepot will do your body good!
