Yoga Design Lab's NEW Travel Yoga Mats - Made for Modern Gals Like You & Me

I've never had a yoga mat before.

Gasp.

I know. I'm probably the only girl you know that hasn't been spending every weekend in downward dog or warrior poses.

I'm just not a slow-moving, take-time-to-breathe kinda girl.

Or at least I haven't been up to this point.

But I am trying to fix that. Don't get me wrong - I'm not doing a complete 180 and spending my nights om-ing in repose. I am just trying to exercise and stretch more.

Part of the holdup has been finding a cool yoga mat. Since I'm a modern gal and don't own anything "earthy," in autumnal colours, or emblazoned with lotus flowers or the like (not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just not my style), I've never seen a mat that's excited me.

Until now.

When I saw the mats by Yoga Design Labs, I knew these were the game changers I was waiting for.

Sooo worth the wait.

First of all,  these yoga mats designed by Canadian Chad Turner, feature 10 contemporary, often bold designs that align with my modern marble, glass and metal decor. Geometrics, chevrons, sunsets, dreamscapes, shimmering gems - it's all so swoon-worthy. These fashion-forward designs go with all your carefully curated athleisure wear. As if that weren't awesome enough - the designs are made with water-based inks.

Secondly, they burst with colour. The Geo Mat  (pictured above) showcases bright prisms of magenta, teal and lime. Want something a little softer? Tribeca Gem is awash with tranquility in soft lavenders. Peace is easy to achieve when you're on top of Breathe. There's so much to choose from, whether you're shopping for a Combo Mat, Travel Mat, or Hot Yoga Towel.

Then there's the texture - like the soft fur of a weimaraner puppy. I've never felt a softer yoga mat before. I didn't even know it was a possibility (told you it was worth the wait). Though the mat is very thin (1 mm), it feels so good on your hands, feet, knees and back. Don't be surprised if you find yourself using it more than you thought. It's just too beautiful and lovely not to have out and be on.

The NEW Travel Yoga Mats are made out of natural rubber and microfiber (80% polyester, 20% nylon), so not only are they eco-friendly and biodegradable, they're free from PVC silicone and phthalates.

And designed to grip better the more you sweat. That's right, go ahead and plank and crunch and lift until you're sopping wet - this is one of the few mats that can take it. A good tip for those with dry hands and feet - lightly spray the mat's top with water before using to prevent sliding.

But a wet mat is gross. And spraying or wiping it down all the time doesn't cut it. I mean, there's no way a mere wipe is going to get it clean. So the fact that these are machine washable? This is also something I didn't think you could ever hope for. Pop it in the machine and hang to dry. It's really that easy.

The Combo Mats are also narrow and way long which I really appreciate. Although I'm not super tall, I've always felt cramped and boxed in by regular yoga and exercise ones. You want me to stretch out as far as I can and really breathe? These mats actually provide the space to do it.

Lightweight Travel Mats come with a built in strap making it easy to not just tote around but even if you choose to never take it outside the house, you can hang it up and stash it away for later use. They're also ultra foldable if you prefer to fold instead of roll.

These are not just yoga mats - they're the ultimate.
