A signature scent is one of the most essential items in your wardrobe. It says as much about you as that little black number that you pull out for hot dates and that big satchel that you use to heft work to and from the office.

One of my favourite new finds is MyParfuem out of Berlin.

The idea behind it is that you are the perfumer. And don't worry, they have made it easy for you. You simply:

1. Choose the base essence
2. Add your ingredients (up to 30)
3. Choose your flacon - the decorative bottle it will go in

It's more affordable that you thought, isn't it? Especially when you consider that you're getting a scent that is unique to you and your preferences.

I got Dreamworld for my fella. It's a spicy, warm blend that is manly and leathery. A truly compelling scent with vanilla, cinnamon, leather, orange and peach. I love that you can create scents for men here!

Miracle is a phenomenal scent that moves from sweet and citrusy to light and floral in an instant. Apple blossom and neroli mingle with orange, vanilla, ginger and tangerine. What a fun scent for spring!

For summer though, it's going to be all about Summer II! Currant blossom (a flower I've never heard of but is absolutely wonderful), jasmine and Asian lotus coalesce with sandalwood, cedarwood and lemons for a truly refreshing and original scent.
